Ingredients

- 1/2 lb split peas (lentils are good also)
- 1 ham hock
- 1 minced carrot
- 1 minced celery
- 1 minced onion
Recipe
- 1 place all ingredients in a pot and fill with lots of water. boil, boil, boil.
- 2 watch carefully and stir.
- 3 as the peas start to thicken, add a little water. it helps to cook -- but not too much water or it will be too thin.
