Souped Up Split Pea Soup

Ingredients
- Servings: 8
- 1 ham hock
- 1 lb dried split peas
- 1/2 cup dried red lentils
- 1 cup carrot, chopped
- 1/3 cup baby corn, chopped
- 1/4 cup pine nuts, chopped
- 1 teaspoon garlic, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon dried tarragon
- 8 cups chicken broth
Recipe
- 1 put carrots, baby corn, onion, and pine nuts in the food processor and chop.
- 2 put all ingredients except chicken broth in the crock pot.
- 3 add 6 cups of the chicken broth.
- 4 cook on high for 3 hours.
- 5 turn down to low for another 2 hours and add the remaining 2 cups of chicken broth (if you like it thick or thinner adjust the broth to your preference).
