Savorie’s Tomato Bisque Soup

Ingredients

- 3/4 cup onion, chopped 
 
- 1/3 cup butter 
 
- 3/4 teaspoon dill seed 
 
- 1 teaspoon dill weed 
 
- 1 teaspoon oregano 
 
- 1/4 cup honey 
 
- 1/4 cup flour 
 
- 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes 
 
- 3 cups chicken stock 
 
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 
 
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper 
 
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped 
 
- 2 cups half-and-half cream 
 
Recipe
- 1 sauté onion, dills, oregano in butter. 
 
- 2 add flour, cook roux. 
 
- 3 add tomatoes and (juice to equal stock amount) and stock. 
 
- 4 salt & pepper. 
 
- 5 bring to low boil. 
 
- 6 reduce & simmer. 
 
- 7 cook long enough to get rid of flour taste. 
 
- 8 before serving, warm up the half & half and slowly add to hot mixture along with parsley and honey, low simmer (so it does not break to boil) and serve.
