Split Pea 'n Ham Soup

Total Time: 6 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 6 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb dried split peas
  • 1 cup diced onion
  • 1 1/2 cups diced carrots
  • 1 cup diced celery
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried marjoram, crushed
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 1/2 lbs ham hocks

Recipe

  • 1 put all ingredients and 6 1/2 cups water in a 5 1/2-quart slow cooker.
  • 2 cover and cook on high for 6 hours, or low for 12 hours until peas are very soft and fall apart.
  • 3 remove ham.
  • 4 when cool enough to handle, cut meat off the bone, dice and return to soup.
