Super Fast & Easy Spicy Tomato Soup

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (46 ounce) bottle spicy hot v8
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans tomato paste
  • 1/8-1/4 cup sour cream

Recipe

  • 1 pour v-8, tomato paste, and 1/8-1/4 sour cream (depending on how creamy/spicy you want it) into a saucepan and whisk together until combined.
  • 2 stir constantly on medium to medium high heat until desired soup temperature is reached.
  • 3 serve immediately.

Sweet And Sour Sloppy Joes

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 10 3/4 ounces tomato soup
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup mustard
  • 1/4 cup vinegar (or less to taste)
  • 3/4 cup ketchup

Recipe

  • 1 brown meat with the chopped onion.
  • 2 drain.
  • 3 add rest of ingredients.
  • 4 serve on toasted bread or buns.

Special Spinach Dip

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 cups mayonnaise or 2 cups miracle whip
  • 1 (1 7/8 ounce) package vegetable soup mix (knorr preferred)
  • 1 (1 7/8 ounce) package french onion soup mix
  • 3 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 2 (10 ounce) packages frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained of most liquid
  • 1 shrimp, ring 40-60 count, tails removed
  • 2 (6 ounce) cans crabmeat
  • 1 (6 ounce) can lobster meat (optional)
  • 1/2 cup minced red onion (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 blend all ingredients together.
  • 2 cover and refrigerate overnight, if desired.
  • 3 serve in sourdough bread bowl -- serve with crackers and baguette slices.
  • 4 enjoy!

Triple Mushroom Soup

Total Time: 6 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 6 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 8 slices bacon, cut into 1/2-inch dice
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage, crushed in the palm of your hand
  • 1 lb cremini mushroom, sliced
  • 1 lb shiitake mushroom, stems removed, caps sliced
  • 1 ounce dried porcini mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup snipped chives, for garnish

Recipe

  • 1 saute the bacon in a large skillet over moderate heat until crisp; remove bacon from pan to drain.
  • 2 add onion and sage to the pan and saute until the onion is softened.
  • 3 add in the cremini and shiitake mushrooms and toss until mixture is combined.
  • 4 transfer the contents of the skillet to a 5 to 7-quart slow cooker.
  • 5 add in the porcini mushrooms, soy sauce, broth, and bacon.
  • 6 cover and cook on high for 3 hours or on low for 5-6 hours.
  • 7 at the end of the cooking time, add the cream and stir to combine.
  • 8 serve the soup garnished with the chives.

The Starr Spinach Cobb Dip

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • 500 g yogurt
  • 250 g mayonnaise
  • 250 g spinach, thawed
  • 250 g vegetable soup mix
  • 1 loaf bread

Recipe

  • 1 drain the thawed spinach of excess liquid.
  • 2 mix together all the ingredients, except for the loaf, in a medium bowl and refrigerate until you are ready to use.
  • 3 hollow out the cobb of bread and keep aside the removed bread (to be cut and toasted for 10 minutes in the oven) the cobb shell needs to be baked to firm up the 'bowl' as this will be your dish for presentation of the dip.
  • 4 once the cobb is cool, fill with spinach dip just before serving. place on a platter and surround it with the chopped, baked bread pieces that you reserved from the loaf.
  • 5 you may want to chop extra bread, crackers, or vegetable crudites (sliced veggies).

Savory Tomato Soup

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 2
  • 1/4 cup chopped celery
  • 2 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 teaspoons flour
  • 8 ounces stewed tomatoes
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/4 cup dry wine
  • 1 chicken bouillon cube
  • 2 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled

Recipe

  • 1 cook celery and onion in butter till tender but not brown.
  • 2 blend in flour.
  • 3 add remaining ingredients, except bacon; cook and stir until slightly thick.
  • 4 reduce heat; cook slowly 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • 5 garnish with bacon.

Sweet And Sour Tomato Sauce With Meatballs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 2 lbs ground beef (shaped into meatballs using your favorite recipe, i use my parmesan meatball kittencal's italian melt-in-your-mouth meatballs for this)
  • oil (for frying)
  • 1 (28 ounce) can stewed tomatoes (undrained)
  • 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 (20 ounce) can tomato soup (undiluted)
  • 1 (14 ounce) can beef broth or 1 (14 ounce) can beef consomme
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 1 -2 tablespoon fresh minced garlic (or to taste)
  • 1 -2 teaspoon dried chili pepper flakes (optional or to taste)
  • 1/4 cup tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 3 -4 tablespoons cider vinegar (or to taste)
  • 1 green bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 heat oil on a large dutch oven.
  • 2 in a dutch oven or a very large frypan, brown the meatballs well in hot oil then remove to a bowl.
  • 3 add in the onion, garlic and dryed chili flakes and saute for about 4-5 minutes, scraping any browned bits from the bottom of the pot with a wooden spoon.
  • 4 add in tomato paste and stir for 1 minute.
  • 5 add the stewed tomatoes with their juice, crushing the tomatoes slightly with the back of the spoon, drained diced tomatoes, undiluted tomato soup, broth or consomme, brown sugar, cider vinegar and chopped green peppers; mix to combine and bring to a boil.
  • 6 add in browned meatballs back to the pot.
  • 7 simmer for about 2 hours, stirring occasionally, until sauce has thickened, adjusting all ingredients to taste and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • 8 spoon any fat off the top of the sauce.
  • 9 serve with rice or noodles.
  • 10 delicious!
