  • 5 1/2 pounds pot roast

  • 1 (1 pound) loaf round sourdough bread

  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup red vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup croutons
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives

  • in a slow cooker, mix cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix and water. place pot roast in slow cooker and coat with soup mixture.

  • 1 (4 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained and chopped
  • 1/2 (10 ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained
  • 1 (1 pound) loaf round sourdough bread
