Swedish Pea Soup

Total Time: 1 hr 40 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups yellow peas
  • 6 cups water
  • ham bone or salt lamb
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 soak peas overnight and drain.
  • 2 put in cold water and boil one hour.
  • 3 skim carefully.
  • 4 add seasonings, onions and meat and boil until peas are done.
  • 5 remove meat when done and slice; serve separately.
  • 6 note: cook time depends on how well done you like your peas.
